Constructed with Polartec® Thermal Pro® material the insulation on the Level III Jacket creates air pockets that trap air and retain body heat providing outstanding warmth without weight. With excellent breathability, the Level III jacket dries quickly with increased warmth while maintaining lower bulk and increased durability than previous systems.

How Does Polartec® Thermal Pro® Work?

The 100% polyester proprietary fibers and high-pile-velour surface create a fabric that is at least 30 times more durable than bargain fleece. These fabrics offer excellent breathability and dry quickly. The velour back traps air to retain body heat, providing outstanding warmth without weight. Unlike conventional fleece fabrics, Polartec® Thermal Pro® fabrics maintain their insulating ability and non-pilling appearance after repeated laundering and represent the state of the art in fleece fabrics.

GEN III Level III clothing consists of a high-loft fleece jacket made from 100-percent polyester fibers and velour. This combination creates a fabric 30 times more durable than ordinary fleece. Level III is worn as a primary insulation layer, either underneath shell layers or as an outer garment in cool conditions. Made from Polartec Thermal Pro, GEN III Level III uses air pockets in the material to trap air and retain body heat without added weight. Each ECWCS jacket has two internal check pockets, two outer side pockets, and a Velcro fastener for rank and name plates.
