The Spiritus Systems Mid-Weight Balaclava is built for cold conditions where staying warm matters, but staying aware matters more. Designed to balance thermal protection, breathability, and low-profile integration, it keeps your head covered without creating unnecessary bulk under helmets, NVGs, or comms.
The 5.5 oz midweight Swiss pique fabric uses a blend of 70% Modacrylic and 30% FR Rayon for next-to-skin comfort and inherently flame-resistant performance. Because the FR properties are built into the fibers at the yarn level, they won't wash out or wear away over time. The Swiss pique knit also helps move moisture away from the skin and spread it across the fabric for faster evaporation during high-output movement.
Soft enough for extended wear and streamlined enough for headborne systems, it's a solid middle ground when a lightweight face covering isn't enough and a heavy winter layer is too much.
