UK soldiers are now testing out the helmet that was inspired by the epic American classic movie, Star Wars.  This incredible piece of kit was first used by US special forces operators from the Navy SEALs and Army Delta Force.

As reported by the NY Post -

"SAS soldiers are trying out “Star Wars”-style bulletproof helmets in the war against terror. The SAS is the UK’s answer to the Navy SEALs.

The high-tech gear – dubbed the “Boba Fett helmet” after the hit movie’s infamous bounty hunter – uses heat-seeking technology to hunt down enemies."

It is actual an intelligent piece of technology, it is air conditioned and able to pick up vision signals to help identify the enemy.  Also the visor serves as a screen for a GPS system.  Most importantly it is bullet proof and protects from fire, shrapnel & blasts.  It is said to protect soldiers’ heads from a shot from a Magnum 44 round.

Devtac designs a company based in Japan created the helmet.  The official name of this master piece is the Devtac Ronin Kevlar Level IIIA Tactical Ballistic Helmet.

Now the real life heroes get to live out some of their possible childhood dreams!
